Season Ends In Melbourne For Women's Tennis

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis ended their season on Friday afternoon, falling to Florida Tech 7-2 in a battle for the final spot in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.

The 'Fish finish the year at 11-12 overall and 2-7 in the SSC while Florida Tech improves to 13-10 and 2-7 in league play.

PBA was able to pick up wins at number two and four singles as Taylor Conti and Michaela Mignemi got into the win column. For Conti her 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 victory over Erin Egoroff was her 13th of the year as she closes the year at 13-9, the second best record on the team.

Mignemi picked up her team-best 16th win of the year as she defeated Lauren Stuckey in three sets. After taking the first set 7-6 in a tiebreak Mignemi dropped the second 6-4 before winning the 10-point tiebreak third set.

The 'Fish didn't take another set in singles with Romina Bolagay proving to be the most competitive, losing 6-4, 7-5 to Kayla Hergott at number three. In doubles play Bolagay and Mignemi were taken down at number two 8-4 while Conti and Dezi Bowman lost 8-6 at number three.
