Bio Divider - PBA Highlights

Ty Singleton was named the head coach of Sailfish Softball in November of 2021. Singleton brings with him over 20 years of coaching experience, including coaching at some of the highest levels in college softball.

Singleton led the Sailfish to a 15-26 record during the 2024 season. PBA earned series wins over No. 3 Tampa, Lynn, and Florida Southern on their way to a 11-19 Sunshine State Conference mark. Pitcher Cambria Arturo earned second team All-SSC honors.

After joining the team at the semester break, Singleton's first season with the 'Fish involved dealing with injuries to several key players. PBA got off to a hot start in conference play before ending the season with a 14-26 record and 13-17 record in the SSC.

Singleton reached his 300th career win during the 2022-23 season against Florida Southern. As a team, PBA increased their win total in Singleton's second season. The Sailfish team ERA improved nearly half a run per game.

Bio Divider - Prior to PBA

Singleton brought with him over 20 years of coaching experience, including coaching at some of the highest levels in college softball. He spent 14 years coaching NCAA Division I softball spanning from 1997 as an assistant coach at the University of Texas to his last Division I stop as an assistant coach at Army-West Point in 2014. Throughout the 2000s, Singleton served as the head softball coach at NCAA DI programs Northwestern State University, the University of Missouri, and the University of New Mexico.
 
During his first head coaching job at Northwestern State, Singleton posted a record-breaking 45 wins while winning a Southland Conference Tournament title, earning a trip to the 2002 NCAA Regional tournament. After his historic season at Northwestern State, Singleton was hired as head coach of Mizzou. He recorded a 130-88 overall record with the Tigers, including three straight trips to NCAA Regionals. Singleton was named Big 12 Coach of the Year in 2003. As the head coach of New Mexico, he led the Lobos to their most conference wins in his first year at the helm.

Since 2018, Singleton has served as the Associate Head Baseball coach at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington. He is also the director and strength coach at a non-profit strength and conditioning program he founded, Utmost Athletics. Utmost focuses on transforming peoples’ overall mental, physical, and spiritual health.

Bio Divider - Personal

Singleton earned his bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Portland where he played outfield and hit leadoff for the Pilots. He returned to the classroom at Fuller Theological Seminary where he earned his master’s degree in theology.
