Holly Hill began working at Palm Beach Atlantic University in July of 2007 and is the assistant athletic trainer for Sailfish athletics.
In her position at PBA, Hill assists in the healthcare of PBA’s 11 varsity sports teams of over 150 student-athletes while providing support in prevention of injury, rehabilitation, as well as on-site support at athletic contests home and away.
Hill is the direct sports medicine contact for women’s soccer, women’s basketball, softball, and the Sailfish cross country teams.
Hill also is an asset to PBA from a teaching perspective as she is an instructor in the universities athletic training education program as a NATA and BOC certified athletic trainer.
Hailing from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Hill completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies within her home state before moving to West Palm Beach to begin her full-time work in the field of athletic training. Hill earned her undergraduate degree from Hope College in 2005 with a bachelor’s of arts in athletic training before moving on to Western Michigan University where she earned her Master’s in June of 2007. Her thesis was done on the effects of cubed ice, crushed ice, and wetted ice on intramuscular tissue temperature.
While at WMU, Hill spent two years working for Portage Central High School as an athletic trainer, assisting with 16 varsity sports which included such sports as hockey and lacrosse.
In 2009 Hill’s thesis research performed while at WMU, “Comparisons of Cubed Ice, Crushed Ice, and Wetted Ice on Intramuscular and Surface Temperature Changes”, was published in the Journal of Athletic Training (2009;44(2):136-141).
The former Holly Patterson, Holly was married to Greg Hill in 2005. Greg also works at the University in the Admissions department where he holds the position of Communications Supervisor. The couple resides in West Palm Beach with their dog, Mya.
