Josh came back from injury during the early part of the season, and spent most of the season as the Friday starter for the ‘Fish … posted a 3.92 ERA in his final season, and a .282 opponent’s batting average … made 12 starts on the season, striking out 55 batters in 57.1 innings … threw five scoreless innings against No. 10 St. Edwards on March 3, striking out eight hitters and allowing just one hit … threw seven strong innings against Rollins College on May 6, allowing just two earned runs and striking out seven Tar hitters.
Sat out the season due to injury.
Established himself as the staff ace during his first season in the blue and white, going 5-7 with a 4.26 ERA in 17 starts... Struck out a team-high 106 batters while only walking 47 and holding opponents to a staff-best .232 batting average... Threw 93 innings on the season and finished with one complete game... Tossed "quality starts" of six innings or more and three earned runs or less on seven occasions... Struck out six or more batters in a game 12 times, including two 10 strikeout performances... Picked up his complete game against Lynn University on April 18th, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out seven... Stymied the University of Tampa on March 20th for seven and two-thirds innings, not allowing an earned run, striking out ten and only walking one on the way to picking up the victory... Struck out five of nine hitters faced in a two-inning outing against Nova Southeastern University on April 14th... Named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) South Region Pitcher of the Year.
Played at NAIA Northwestern College in Iowa... Earned a spot on the GPAC second-team as a sophomore... Also named Honorable Mention in the GPAC as a freshman.
Graduated from Ogden High School where he played shortstop and pitched for head coach Dick Smith... Was a All State first-team and second-team honoree during his time with the Bulldogs... Also named to the Iowa All Star team.
