Adkins Rewarded for Outstanding Play During Women's Basketball Season

WEST PALM BEACH – Ashley Adkins, a freshman standout on Palm Beach Atlantic’s (PBA) women’s basketball team, was recently named for two honors in conjunction with the Independents Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA). The ICAA is comprised of nine institutions that do not belong to a conference.

Adkins was named to the All-ICAA second team, and was also honored as a member of the All-Freshman team. In 27 games this season, Adkins averaged 12.1 points per game to lead the Sailfish women’s squad, posting season-highs of 27 and 25 points, respectively, over Florida Memorial this season.

The freshman from Nacogdoches, Texas was third on the team in assists (2.2), and brought down an average of 3.1 rebounds per game. Adkins led the team in three-point shooting percentage (33.7%) while being second on the team in steals (1.3).

A strong leader on the team, Adkins will be relied upon in her future years at PBA for on-court direction as a point guard, and for her ability to score.
