Men's and Women's Tennis Inks Three

WEST PALM BEACH – Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s and women’s head tennis coach Chi Ly has announced the signing of three athletes to the tennis teams at PBA.

Brett Gibson, from Vestavia Hills, Alabama, is a 2007 graduate of Vestavia Hills High School where he was the 2006 Alabama State Champion for No. 4 singles. The seventh ranked 18-year old in Alabama, Gibson was 21-2 in singles play in 2007 and 18-3 in 2006. The incoming freshman will join an already established PBA, who claimed the runner-up trophy at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tournament for the second consecutive year. The PBA men’s team was recently ranked ninth in the NCAA southeast region, and No. 1 singles player Brock Newton was also ranked ninth for individuals.

The PBA women’s squad welcomes Krisna Domenech and Kelly Schwartz to the 2008 roster. Domenech, from Winter Garden, Florida, was the No. 1 singles player from Circle Christian School, and is currently ranked 481st in the nation for U18 girls. Schwartz, who hails from Kalamazoo, Michigan, played in the No. 3 singles position at Richland Gull Lake High School. Schwartz will also run on PBA’s cross country team, which Coach Ly also heads up.
