WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Bringing in talented players from the state of Florida has been a staple in the recruiting efforts of Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s soccer head coach Jose Gomez over the years. He hopes the latest signing of Orlando native Charlie Hubbard brings another outstanding recruit to West Palm Beach and the Sailfish program.

A product of The Master’s Academy in Orlando, Hubbard will join the Sailfish in the fall as a player with dangerous offensive skills while also excelling as part of a great team at TMC.

During his time at the prep level, Hubbard scored 113 goals while adding in 63 assists as a part of two district championship squads. A talented and marked scorer,  Hubbard finished out his high school career in solid fashion as he scored 25 goals on his way to being named a four-time All-District performer.

Not only a solid performer on the field, Hubbard was counted on for his leadership off of it as well as he was a team captain all four years at TMC as well. It was these type of qualities in which Gomez saw that made Hubbard a good match for PBA.

“We are excited to have Charlie in the Palm Beach Atlantic family.  He represents the type of student-athlete we like to have at PBA.  Charlie is a fantastic student, an accomplished player, and recognizes the importance of Christian values,” said Gomez.

At the club level, Hubbard cometed for Central Florida United where his team made the Cup Final Four three of the last four years.

Not only a polished player on the field, Hubbard has also found success in the classroom as he holds a 3.8 grade point average while also being named Student Body President and being involved with Student Government all four years of high school.

Hubbard joins a growing number of student-athletes from The Master’s Academy to choose PBA as their college choice.
