Sailfish Thrash St. John Fisher in Men's Tennis

Written By: Ron Kotouch, PBA Sports Information Graduate Assistant

HILTON HEAD, S.C.-  After having their winning streak snapped on Tuesday evening, the Sailfish men’s tennis squad looked to start anew against St. John Fisher College on Wednesday afternoon.  Going according to plan, the Sailfish established the foundation for a new winning streak, as the Fish ripped apart the Cardinals squad by a score of 9-0.

Unfortunately, for St. John Fisher, the Cardinals were just another squad wandering in the tracks of Sailfish domination.  Not wasting any time, the Fish got their train of momentum rolling early in doubles play.  The tandems of Luke Bolanos/John Tilton, Tyler Dealy/Frankie Moulton, and James Buerkle/Nick Hines proved to be too much for the Cardinals, as the duos won the matches by a combined score of 24-7.

In singles play, the Sailfish picked up where they left off in the doubles matches and did not drop a single set to the Cardinals.  Krasi Atanasov (6-0, 6-1), Luke Bolanos (6-0,6-0), Tyler Dealy (6-2, 6-0), Frankie Moulton (6-0, 6-4), John Tilton (6-1, 6-0), and Nick Hines (6-1, 6-2) all won their matches in straight sets en route to one of the most dominating Sailfish victories of the season.

The Sailfish improve to 9-5 on the season and will be back in action on Thursday afternoon against Olivet Nazarene.  Be sure to check back on for all the match details and highlights.
