Sailfish Hoops Releases 2007-2008 Schedules

West Palm Beach, Fla.- With two new coaching staffs as well as an off-season of optimism, the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s and women’s basketball programs have released their regular season schedules for the 2007-2008 seasons.

Under the new leadership of Terry Primm and Robin Potera-Haskins for the men’s and women’s programs respectively, both coaches are taking over teams that hope to get back on track after a challenging and sometimes disappointing campaign last season.

Coach Primm, a former PBA assistant coach and record-holding player for the Sailfish, takes over the Sailfish program full-time after serving as the recruiting coordinator for PBA over the past several years.

“We will be tested early and I think that’s good for our young team,” said Primm. “We know that it’s going to take hard work and preparation to get the program where we want it to be and our schedule this season will help us do that,” continued Primm.

A veteran coach at all levels including the Division I and II ranks, Potera-Haskins comes to PBA after recently serving as the head women’s basketball coach at Montana State University in which she won multiple conference championships.

No stranger to winning, Potera-Haskins understands the task at hand as she takes over a PBA team that finished 4-24 in 2006-2007.

“It’s an extremely competitive and challenging division II schedule,” said Potera-Haskins. “We feel that our early games will really prepare us well for our games against many of the Sunshine State Conference schools that we have scheduled this season,” continued Potera-Haskins.

Both Sailfish squads open up their seasons against NCAA Division I opponents with the men playing an exhibition contest against Stetson University on Friday, November 9th when they travel to Deland, Florida to take on the Hatters. The PBA women’s hoops team will open their season by traveling to nearby Florida Atlantic University for a matchup on November 15th in Boca Raton, Florida.

Potera-Haskins and the women’s team make their home debut on Saturday, November 17th when they welcome in Florida Tech for a 5:00 showdown with the Panthers in the Rubin Arena. Primm and the Sailfish men’s squad make their home debut on Monday, November 19th when they play host to Rollins College at 7:00 p.m.
