Men's Soccer Seedings Announced for Upcoming NCCAA National Tournament

GREENVILLE, S.C.- The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has announced the playing field for the 2008 men’s soccer national championship that will take place in Kissimmee, Florida at Austin Tindall Park. The Sailfish men’s soccer team has received the #4 seed in the eight team field.
The reigning NCCAA National runner-up from 2007, the Sailfish are coming off a dominating two game effort in the South Regional as they took down North Greenville University 5-0 in the first-round and defeated Southern Wesleyan University 4-0 in the championship final. The team’s record now stands at 11-6-1.
The opening game for PBA will take place on Wednesday, December 3rd as they will take on the #5-seeded Mid-Continent University at 7:45 pm. MCU enters play with a record of 10-7-3 as they hail from Mayfield, Kentucky and took home the Mid-East regional championship.
The culmination of the South Regional tournament also produced a number of PBA players being recognized as NCCAA All-Region selections.
Highlighting the postseason awards was the naming of head coach Jose Gomez as the South Region Coach of the Year and junior Cheyne Roberts as South Region Player of the Year.
Joining Roberts on the All-Region team was goalkeeper Joe Yurchak, defenders Jerris Gay and Trent Hammon, midfielder Josh Sharpe as well as forwards Daniel Abrahamsohn and Chance Sumner.
These players will now be eligible for NCCAA All-American consideration which will be announced after the conclusion of the National Tournament.
