Sailfish Sophomore Leads Men's Cross Country Against Florida's Best

TITUSVILLE, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s cross country team journeyed up the coast to “Florida’s Miracle City”, Titusville, looking to find a marvel of their own over the first weekend of October. Another race full of challenging competition from Sunshine State Conference Universities and even NCAA Division I schools University of Miami and Central Florida University, the PBA men’s team finished ninth at the FLRunners.com Invitational presented by Nike.
PBA sophomore Carter Williams posted another solid performance, finishing 20th overall in the standard 8K race with a final time of 27:43.57, a real achievement according to head coach, Staci LaForte.
“It was a great night as every one of our runners, save two, achieved their season best time. Despite the rankings, we felt very good about our own team and individual accomplishments with this race,” said LaForte concerning the race.
Following behind Williams was junior veteran Kyle Pryce, posting a personal best time of 33:18.74 which earned him a 71st place finish. Other PBA runners finishing the invitational included Ricardo Rodriguez (34:31.03 – 77th), Stephen Tucker (34:54.28 – 79th), Carl Dean (35:12.13 – 81st), and John Warner (36:32.96 – 87th).
The Sailfish men’s cross country team await their next race at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic which will take place Saturday, October 11 in Orlando, Florida.
