LAKELAND, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s soccer team took on Southeastern University on Thursday evening in the first of two trips to Lakeland, Florida for the Sailfish. After two goals were scored by each team in the first-half the defenses would take over as the two squads settled for a 2-2 tie.
The Fire jumped ahead of the Fish by a score of 2-0 in the first-half before the Fish got in gear and put forth two goals of their own.
Those goals were scored by senior Dan Dodge and junior Cheyne Roberts, two of the most consistent offensive weapons all season long for head coach Jose Gomez. PBA missed on two other penalty kick opportunities that the Southeastern goalkeeper saved which would have stretched the game to a more lopsided score for the Fish.
With SU not incorporating overtime into their soccer games, the Sailfish would settle for a tie and exit Lakeland with their season record standing at 7-4-1 on the season.
The Fish will return to West Palm Beach and prepare for an important South Region contest on Saturday as they will travel to Florida Southern College for a 7 pm matchup with the Mocs.
Official game statistics were unavailable and will be posted at a later time.
