WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Saturday’s during a collegiate basketball season are rarely free from games, practice, or travel but with the regular season still a few months away, the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s basketball team recently took time out of their schedule to connect with the local Palm Beach County Boy’s and Girl’s Club.
Partnering with the Palm Beach County Boy’s and Girl’s Club annual Kid’s Festival, the Sailfish men’s basketball team helped out on Saturday with a variety activities ranging from setup, to cooking, to just playing with the kids on hand.
Continuing to strive to honor Christ with their actions, second-year head coach Terry Primm feels engaging with the community is a big part of that.
“We want our program to be successful in all facets including giving back to the community,” said Primm.
“Being involved with such a great organization like the Boy’s and Girl’s Club gives us a perfect avenue locally for our boys to share the love of Christ in even the smallest ways as playing games and having fun,” continued Primm.
The players arrived at the Greene Complex for Sports and Recreation at 7 am before traveling to the site where they would witness a talent show, food giveaways including popcorn and snow cones, as well as having time to interact with the children at the event.
Continuing to embrace the program’s “Share the Vision” theme, the PBA men’s basketball program continues to strive for the positive impact that collegiate student-athletes can make on and off the court.
