DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- Traveling all the way to Daytona Beach, the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s cross country team came away with another solid result on Saturday as they posted some solid times on a tough course. Overall, the PBA men’s runners finished eighth as a team at the Asics Invitational presented by Smoothie King.
Running in the standard 8K race, PBA’s Carter Williams finished as the Sailfish top performer coming in at a solid 29:45.04, good enough for 22nd overall in the race.
Up against quite possibly one of the toughest courses in the state of Florida, head coach Staci LaForte was pleased with her team’s effort.
“Definitely a much tougher course than last week so our times weren’t exactly comparable but I was happy with our outcomes,” said LaForte following the race.
Behind William’s team-leading time was newcomer Nick Bryd who finished with a time of 32:11.90 which placed him 42nd in the field. Other PBA runners completing the race were Kyle Pryce (35:07.29, 61st), Ricardo Rodriguez (38:09.30, 76th), Carl Dean (39:06.10, 79th), Stephen Tucker (39:36.62, 81st), and Mike Winters (40:00.87, 83rd).
With two races under their belt, the PBA men’s cross country team will look forward to their next time out on the course which will take place on October 3rd as they compete in the FLRunners.com Invitational.
