Palm Beach Atlantic Men's Cross Country Makes Season Debut at Florida Tech

MELBOURNE, Fla.- Taking part in their first race of the 2008 season, the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s cross country team came away with a solid start while trying out a host of new runners on this years squad. PBA finished seventh at the Florida Tech Invitational on Saturday.
PBA runner Carter Williams made his collegiate running debut as he came through with an impressive time of 28:12 and finished 27th overall in a competitive men’s 8K field.
Kyle Pryce and Michael Winters, both veteran runners from last years squad, finished 36th and 37th respectively with times of 34:04 and 34:14.
Others making their contribution to the teams finish were John Warner (36:57), Ricardo Rodriguez (37:24), and Stephen Tucker (42:16).
Embry-Riddle University (46 points) swept both the men’s and women’s team titles as they overtook Nova Southeastern (55 points) and Florida Southern College (73 points).
ERAU’s Sam Vasquez (25:21) held a two-second advantage over NSU’s Jeff Palmer for the individual medalist honors with Palmer coming in at 25:23.
The PBA men’s team will try their luck again next weekend when they participate in the Smoothie King Invitational on Saturday, September 20th at 7:30 am.
