The grass was thick, the air was thin, but you know things are going well when Trent Hammon scores from sixty yards out on a free kick. Emotions are high right now after a commanding 7-1 victory today over Colorado State @ Pueblo. Coming into the game we were not sure what to expect from the “Thunderwolves”.

The game started out at an incredible pace. Players were buzzing for the first fifteen minutes of the match until we finally found our groove.  We knew our defense would be solid this year but our offense came through today in a big way.

A few key moments from this afternoons match.

Juan Villagrana, a junior, recorded an assist in his first collegiate match, EVER. He went Brett Favre on St. Leo and is now playing center mid for the Fish.

Our defensive players played out of their minds today, even with the fans heckling them. I don’t think it was wise to call our 6’3” cage-fighting center back, Jerris Gay, a woman.

Cheyne Roberts started off the season in usual form. It was just another two goal game for him.

All in all the team walked away from today confident and in full form. One down, fifteen remaining. Go Fish.
