WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Freshman Magnolia West was named a 2017 D2CCA All-American Honorable Mention earlier this week. West is just the third softball player in the Division II era to be recognized with an all-America honor.

West was the catalyst for the team this season as she set school records for hits (76) and batting average (.458), while also driving in a team-high 34 runs. She also led the team in doubles with 15 and stolen bases with 21. She scored 26 times and collected four triples.

She was named to both the D2CCA and the NFCA All-South Region team earlier this year. West joins Lindsey Johnson (NFCA 3rd Team, 2013) and Ashley Jones (Daktronics HM, 2010) as PBA softball players to be recognized with all-American honors.

The Sailfish finished the year 32-17 overall and 22-10 against teams in the Sunshine State Conference. PBA has been a provisional member of the SSC for the past three years and anticipates becoming a full member in time for the 2017-18 academic year.
