WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The third and final NCAA South Region softball ranking was released today and Palm Beach Atlantic dropped one spot to No. 8.

The University of West Florida moves up to the top spot, moving former No. 1 Saint Leo down a spot. They are followed by the University of Alabama-Huntsville, Valdosta State, and Mississippi College in the top five. Lee University and University of North Alabama sit above PBA at No. 6 and No. 7, with Shorter and Tampa rounding out the bottom two.

The Sailfish took two out of three in their final series of the season on the road in Miami Shores against Barry University, and finished out the month of April 11-3 while working their way to a 32-17 overall record on the year.

The next big announcement from the NCAA will be the selection show, which will take place Monday morning, May 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. That's when the Sailfish will find out their postseason fate.
