Brinegar and Visconti Named Buffalo Wild Wings Student-Athletes of the Month

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic’s sports information staff has named Nikki Brinegar from softball and Sean Visconti from baseball the Student-Athletes of the Month for April.
Brinegar pitched eight times during the month with six starts and two complete games. The senior posted a 5-0 record over 43.1 innings and a 1.45 ERA in the circle. She helped lead the team to an 11-3 record including taking two of three from then No. 9 Saint Leo. The lefty shut down the Lions offense, limiting them to just five hits and two unearned runs in a complete game victory. Brinegar struck out 20 during the month and held batters to a .251 batting average.
Visconti led the team with a .373 batting average in the month of April with 22 hits in 14 games. The senior broke the school record for career hits during the month at Nova Southeastern. Visconti scored a team-high 14 runs and drove in 11 while also stealing four bases. He hit his fourth home run of the season on April 4 in a 9-5 win over Barry and also collected three doubles during the month. He currently ranks 3rd in D-II with 22 doubles on the season, a new PBA single-season record.
Baseball will close out the season this weekend at Rubin Park, hosting Rollins College on Saturday at 6 p.m. with a doubleheader on Sunday at 1 p.m. Seniors will be honored before Sunday’s first game.
Softball will await their postseason fate after closing out the regular season this past weekend at Barry. The ‘Fish are 32-17 overall and were ranked No. 7 in the second NCAA Regional Ranking that was released last week. Eight teams will be selected for the regional tournament during the selection show on Monday, May 8.
