Softball Ranked No. 10 In Opening Region Poll

West Palm Beach, Fla.- The NCAA released their first region rankings of the 2017 season Wednesday afternoon, and the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish currently sit 10th in the South Region.
Each region will have eight representatives make the NCAA Tournament. With two weekends left in the season for the Sailfish there is still time remaining for them to jump up.
From the Sunshine State Conference, Saint Leo is ranked No. 1, and joining the Lions is The University of Tampa at No. 8
Saint Leo is followed West Florida, North Alabama, Valdosta State, and Alabama Huntsville in the top-five. Lee, Shorter, Tampa, Mississippi College and PBA round out the remainder of the ranked teams in the region.
The ‘Fish took two out of three games from Tampa during the weekend of April 7-8, while also splitting a doubleheader with Shorter back on March 6.
The Sailfish host Saint Leo this weekend, April 21 and 22 for a crucial three-game series Friday night and Saturday at the Rinker Athletic Campus. Friday’s first pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
