Men's Tennis Remains 10th in Second NCAA Region Ranking

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men’s tennis held serve at No. 10 in the second NCAA South Region Ranking that was released on Wednesday afternoon.

The Sailfish sit at 11-8 overall this season with one more match in the regular season later this week. PBA is coming off a tough 5-4 loss to Rollins – currently ranked 8th in the region – this past Sunday. In that match PBA had two chances to close it out in singles but lost both No. 1 and No. 6 in the third set.

Three players have reached double-digit win totals in singles play this season with freshman Bernardo Ferreira leading the way with 11. Fellow freshman Philipp Hoffmann has 10 wins as well as graduate student Rafael Lenz.

At the top of the region is West Florida as the Argonauts are a perfect 20-0 in DII play this season. They are followed by Barry, Valdosta State, Lynn and Saint Leo in the top five. Florida Southern is sixth followed by North Alabama, Rollins and Lee.

The Sailfish close out the regular season on Saturday as they head up I-95 to take on Florida Tech at noon. PBA is playing for seeding in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament against the Panthers with the winner earning the six seed and the loser taking the seven seed. The SSC Tournament will begin on April 20 in Bradenton.
