Men's Tennis Ranked In NCAA South Region Poll

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s tennis team is ranked in the top-ten of the first NCAA South Region rankings published on Wednesday, April 5.

The ‘Fish hold an 11-7 overall record with a 9-6 mark against fellow DII opponents. PBA enters the rankings at No. 10 and will vie for one of the eight bids into the South Regional Tournament that begins at the end of the month.

Freshman Bernardo Ferreira leads the Sailfish with an 11-5 singles record including a 2-2 record in SSC play. Sophomore Thomas Salmon has posted an 8-3 overall singles mark as the ‘Fish are 56-52 overall in singles this season. The duo of Ferreira and Rafael Lenz have posted a team-best 11-4 record in singles play, all at the number one position.

PBA is 1-4 in the Sunshine State Conference with two matches remaining. The ‘Fish will compete in the SSC Tournament that begins on April 20 as all eight teams will qualify for this year’s event in Bradenton.

The Sailfish close out the home schedule on Sunday at 1 p.m. as they host Rollins College (7-8, 1-2 SSC) before finishing the regular season at Florida Tech (12-10, 1-4 SSC) on Saturday, April 15.
