Mignemi and Horner Named Buffalo Wild Wings Student Athletes of the Month

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic’s sports information staff has named Michaela Mignemi from women’s tennis and Sean Horner from baseball the Student-Athletes of the Month for March.
Mignemi was nearly flawless during the month, posting a 20-3 combined singles and doubles record during the month. The junior was 10-1 in singles play as she played at four different sports in the lineup. Her lone loss came against a nationally-ranked opponent. Mignemi was 10-2 overall in doubles but 9-1 when playing with Romina Bolagay. That duo has posted a team-best 14-3 record this season. Mignemi is leading the team with a 14-4 singles record on the year.
Horner posted a 2.12 ERA during the month with a pair of wins. He defeated Florida Tech and Winona State during the month including a one-hit performance against the Warriors on March 3. He struck out seven in that game. The senior followed that up with an eight-inning, six-hit start against FIT where he allowed just two earned runs and struck out seven. For the month he logged 29.2 innings with 25 strikeouts and allowed just seven earned runs while opponents hit just .214 against him with three extra-base hits.
Baseball is back in action on Tuesday as they host Barry at Rubin Park at 6 p.m. Women’s tennis hosts No. 26 Nova Southeastern on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in their final home match of the season at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
