Sailfish Finish Play at Lady Bucs Invitational

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic finished the Lady Buccaneer Invitational Tuesday afternoon, finishing in 15th position against a very tough field. The team shot their best round of the tournament in the third and final round with a 330. The ladies will be back in action next week as they travel to Pace, Fla. to compete in the Lady Argonaut Invitational.
Day 2: PBA shot 330 on Tuesday, and was led by Taylor Heinz who shot a four-over par 76 on the day. Alex Dowd shot 83 on the day, which was the second best Sailfish round of the day. Victoria Hays was not far behind, as she shot 84 to finish the tournament.
Emily Valentine shot an 87 in the final round of the event, while Hayley Betz and Katie Humphreys both shot 89's on Tuesday.
Day 1: Palm Beach Atlantic women’s golf shot back-to-back rounds of 334 on Monday, as they sit in 15th place at the Barry University Lady Bucs Invitational. The tournament is being played at the Senator Course at Shula’s Golf Club. The event is 54 holes and has a very tough field, with six teams in the national top-10 competing in the tournament.
Victoria Hays led the way for the Sailfish Monday, as she shot an 84 in her first round of the day, and shot an impressive 76 in the second round, which was fueled by an even-par 36 on the back nine. Taylor Heinz shot rounds of 82 and 85 on the day and is the second Sailfish golfer on the leaderboard. Just one stroke behind Heinz is Katie Humphreys, who shot an 82 in the first round, and followed it with an 86 in round two.
Emily Valentine shot 86 and 87 in her 36 holes on Monday, and Alex Dowd shot rounds of 86 and 88. Hayley Betz, competing as an individual in the tournament, shot a first-round 93 on Monday and followed it with an 89 in the afternoon session.
The Sailfish will return to action tomorrow, as they look to improve on today’s scores in the final 18 holes of the 54-hole tournament.
