Women's Golf Completes Play in Orlando at Peggy Kirk Bell Invite

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's golf team completed play at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational Tuesday, as they shot a final-round 349. Nova Southeastern University won the tournament shooting a final round of 301 and pulling away from Montevallo, who finished in second by 17 strokes. The Sailfish have two weeks until they return ro action, as they will take place in the Barry University Buccaneer Invitational on March 27-28 in Miami Shores, Fla.
Day Two: Taylor Heinz, who was the top Sailfish golfer on Monday, also shot the best round of the day for the 'Fish on Tuesday with an 85. Heinz was tied on the day by Victoria Hays who also shot 85.
Alex Dowd shot 88 on the day, and was followed by Emily Valentine's final-round 89. Taylor Sukmana rounded out the scoring for the 'Fish with her final round 91.
Day One: Palm Beach Atlantic opened up play Monday morning at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, completing the first two rounds of the 54-hole tournament. The Sailfish sit in 13th on the team leaderboard after day one as they shot rounds of 341 and 330. Nova Southeastern University leads the tournament, as they shot two sub-300 rounds on the day and are tied with hosts Rollins College at the top of the leaderboard.
Taylor Heinz led the way for the ‘Fish on Monday as she shot rounds of 85 and 78. Her second-round 78 was the lowest Sailfish round of the day. Heinz was followed by Alex Dowd, who shot a first-round 83 and followed it up with another 83. Heinz and Dowd both sit in the top 60 in the large field.
Victoria Hays is next on the leaderboard for the ‘Fish, as she posted rounds of 87 and 83 Monday. She is followed by Taylor Sukmana, who shot two rounds of 86, and Emily Valentine, who shot 89 and 86 on Monday.
The team will play a third and final round on Tuesday, as tee-times begin at 8:30 a.m. Stay tuned for final-round results as they become available.
