No. 46 Men's Tennis Picks Up Win Over Tusculum

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – After Tuesday’s match against Tusculum was suspended due to a light curfew the Sailfish completed play against the Pioneers on Wednesday morning with PBA picking up the 6-3 victory.

For the second straight day play was suspended in the middle of a Palm Beach Atlantic men’s tennis match. Tuesday’s match was suspended with the ‘Fish leading 4-3 after Monday’s match against Chowan was also suspended in the middle of play.

The ‘Fish (4-2) picked up two points in doubles play with the second and third positions winning rather easily, 8-4 and 8-1. Both the tandems of Pato Zarazua/Pietro de Silva and Philipp Hoffmann/Thomas Salmon picked up their fourth wins of the year.

In singles play Rafael Lenz was the lone winner for PBA in the top half of the lineup, taking down Yago Fernandez 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 at number two. The bottom three of Bernardo Ferreira, de Silva and Salmon were all victorious with Salmon coming back from down a set to win in three.

PBA and Chowan are scheduled to complete their match on Wednesday beginning at 4:00 p.m.

PBA had Wednesday as a scheduled off day and will play matches on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to close out their trip.
