Sailfish Place Fifth, Liu Second At Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate

FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. –Palm Beach Atlantic finished fifth at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate Invitational after Tuesday's final round. The 'Fish finished in a three-way tie with Lander University and Carson-Newman, all shooting 890 in the 54-hole tournament.
PBA had three scores in the 70's on Tuesday with Daniel Langley shooting a two-over 73. Langley and Murray both finished in a tie for 23rd after shooting 222 (+9) for the tournament.
Nick Stafford from Belmont Abbey was the only golfer to finish ahead of Liu, shooting a five-under 208 including an even-par 71 in the final round. Lincoln Memorial finished as the team champion, shooting 865 to outpace Young Harris by three shots.
Palm Beach Atlantic University sits in fifth place at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate Invitational after two rounds on Monday. David Liu led the ‘Fish with rounds of 68 and 73 on the day as Liu sits in a tie for second overall behind Nick Stafford from Belmont Abbey College. His first round of 68 matched his career low and was the lowest round of the day for all golfers competing in the 14-team event.
Flagler College and Lincoln Memorial are tied for lead after the first round as both are eight-over par as a team. PBA shot rounds of 296 and 297 on Monday, as they also trail Young Harris College and Belmont Abbey College narrowly.
Liu was followed by Daniel Langley, who shot rounds of 72 and 77 on Monday and sits in a tie for 28th overall. Langley’s first round 72 started out rough as he began with a double-bogey on his first hole of the day, but played under-par golf the rest of the round to shoot his lowest round of the season.
Ben Murray is next on the leaderboard for the ‘Fish, as he shot rounds of 73 and 78 on the day, good for 35th on the leaderboard. Murray is followed by David Jizdny, who shot a 78 in his first round of the day and followed it with an 74 in round two. Aaron Wilson also had a nice day for the ‘Fish, shooting back-to-back 77’s.
