Women's Soccer Announces New Signees

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Head women’s soccer coach Chris Gnehm announced his new signees for the 2017 season this week. There are 10 players that signed National Letters of Intent last week to attend Palm Beach Atlantic next fall.

“I am extremely excited about this deep and talented class of Christian game changers. Our new Rinker Athletic Campus as well as expected membership in the SSC has allowed us to attract great student-athletes from all over the country,” said Gnehm. "We are expecting big things from each of these players in the classroom, on the field, in our community, and around the world through our outreach programs. They will enhance our team culture and help us in the pursuit of our goals.”

Abbie Anderson- Abbie is a midfielder from Maryville, Tenn. and attended Maryville High School. She was a four-year starter and earned All-Region honors twice during her time at Maryville. Her senior year she was named Midfielder of the Year in her division and earned First-Team All-State honors.

Maddie Chiola- Maddie will come to West Palm Beach as a goalkeeper from Hammonton, N.J. and will not be alone as the 2016 Sailfish roster had four who came to South Florida from New Jersey. She was the captain of her high school team and also competed in track-and-field at Hammonton High School as a javelin thrower.

Maddie Coggins- Maddie was a four-year starter at Covenant Day School in Charlotte, N.C. and scored 24 goals and totaled 20 assists during her career. Maddie is a forward on the field and also assists as a Sunday School teacher for her church.

Taylor Frizen- Taylor will join the Sailfish in 2017 as a forward from Bearden High School in Knoxville, Tenn. and was also the captain of her high school team, and scored 60 goals during her high school career. She was a two-time All-State selection, and also competed in track-and-field in high school.

Amelia Greaves- Amelia is joining Palm Beach Atlantic women’s soccer from across the state, as she attended Manatee High School in Bradenton, Fla. and played her club soccer at IMG Academy. She is a defender and was named a captain of her team in her senior season.

Carrie Jones- Carrie is from Scottsdale, Ariz. and attended Desert Mountain High School. Carrie was a defender in high school and was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Scottsdale.

Maddie McCarty- Maddie is from Dillsburg, Pa. and played outside back for Northern High School. She is active in volunteering with the Special Olympics and was named a Mid-Penn All-Star as well as to the Penn Live All-Star Second Team.

Ashleigh Moore- Ashleigh is a goalkeeper and is a local product, who attended Wellington High School in nearby Wellington, Fla. She is also associated with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and played her club soccer with Boca United as well as the Wellington Wave.

Nicole Richards- Nicole is from Miami Lakes, Fla. and attended Miami Lakes Educational Center. She is an outside back and played three years as a starter on the Norland boys’ varsity soccer team. She is also a member of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America).

Karina Williams- Karina attended Plano West Senior High School in Plano, Texas. The forward currently plays club soccer for Solar Chelsea Zuazua and is involved in youth ministry at Park Hills Church in Plano.
