MELBOURNE, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic University placed 58 student-athletes on the Sunshine State Conference Fall Commissioner’s Honor Roll. The Sailfish had eight student-athletes carry a 4.00 GPA during the fall semester, up from five in the fall of 2015.
A total of 532 student-athletes, not counting 110 student-athletes from PBA and fellow provisional member Embry-Riddle, were named to the Sunshine State Conference Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2016 fall semester, announced Friday, Feb. 10 by Commissioner Ed Pasque. A total of 133 student-athletes carried a perfect 4.00 grade-point average for the fall semester.
The total breaks the previous record number of 516 student-athletes that were named to the Fall Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2015. This is the fourth consecutive record-breaking fall for the SSC Honor Roll.
Rollins College leads the way with 80 student-athletes on the honored. Florida Southern College boasts the most 4.00 GPA students with 27. At 166, women’s soccer yielded more honorees than any other fall sport.
“Sunshine State Conference student-athletes are among the best in the country athletically, academically and in their communities,” stated Commissioner Pasque. “Today’s announcement of 532 student-athletes on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll is further evidence of this fact.”
To be eligible for the Fall SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade-point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00. Participants in the sports of men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball were eligible for the fall honor roll.
