Sailfish Golf Finishes Fourth at Titan Winter Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's golf finished fourth at the Titan Winter Invitational Tuesday afternoon, shooting a final round 299. The tournament was won by the hosts Eastern Florida State College. Keiser University finished second, followed by Florida Tech. The Sailfish will return to play next week at the Saint Leo Invitational.

Day 2: The Sailfish played very consistent golf on the week, with every golfer shooting a round in the 70's on Tuesday. David Liu and David Jizdny paced the Sailfish with their final round 74's. Liu finished +4 for the tournament, placing him in a tie for fifth. Jizdny finished six-over par, good for a top-10 finish as well.

Ben Murray posted a solid showing as well this week, as his final round three-over 75 fueled a T-26 overall finish for the senior. Murray was followed by Daniel Langley and Trent Harris, who shot rounds of 76 and 78, respectively.

Day 1: Palm Beach Atlantic men’s golf got off to a hot start in the first two rounds of the Titan Winter Invitational on Monday as the ‘Fish sit in a tie for second with one round to play.

The Sailfish shot 300 in the morning and followed that up with a 299 in the afternoon to sit in a tie with Florida Tech for second at 599. The hosts – Eastern Florida State – leads the 14-team field with a two-round total of 593 (299-294).

David Liu leads the Sailfish after the first day in a three-way tie for sixth with a two-round score of 146 (72-74). Liu’s first round even par performance was the best round of the day for the ‘Fish. Teammate David Jizdny shot a consistent 148 (74-74) and sits in a four-way tie for ninth.

Ben Murray sat one shot behind Liu after the first round with a 73 but stumbled in the second round to shoot 78. His two-round total of 151 places him 24th heading into the final round. Daniel Langley shook off a rough first round 85 to shoot one-over 73 in the second round. Trent Harris shot a steady 81 in each round.

Three teams – Keiser, Southeastern and Johnson & Wales – sit within six shots of PBA and FIT with fellow Sunshine State Conference members Embry-Riddle and Tampa sitting in a distant 10th and 11th with scores of 621 and 624.
