Women's Golf Wraps up Play at World Golf Invitational

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's golf finished 18th at the World Golf Invitational hosted by Flagler College Monday. The Sailfish shot a second round 336 to follow their first round team score of 333. The Sailfish will have a couple weeks off before returning to play Feb. 20-21 at the Lady Moc Classic in Lakeland, Fla.
Day 2: Taylor Heinz was the bright spot in the tournament for the Sailfish, as her second-round 75 was her lowest round of the season to date. Heinz had two birdies and five bogeys in her final round of the tournament to pull her inside the top-30 on the leaderboard. Taylor Sukmana shot an 85 on Monday, and was followed by Alex Dowd's 86 and Victoria Hays' 87. Katie Humphreys shot an 88, while the Sailfish scoring was completed by Emily Valentine's 91.
Day 1: Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s golf opened up the 2017 portion of their schedule Sunday, as they began play at the Flagler College World Golf Invitational. The ‘Fish shot 333 on Sunday, as three Sailfish players shot rounds in the 70’s. The tournament includes a very tough field, as six of the top 25 teams in the country are competing.
Taylor Sukmana, Taylor Heinz, and Victoria Hays all shot first rounds of 79 Sunday, which ties them all for the 45th spot on the overall leaderboard. The 79 for Sukmana is her career-low collegiate round.
Emily Valentine shot an opening round 83 Sunday, while Alex Dowd and Katie Humphreys rounded out the scoring for the Sailfish with rounds of 92 and 95 respectively.
The Sailfish will play the final round of the tournament on Monday. Stay tuned for final round results upon completion of the World Golf Invitational.
