Watson Inks Three for 2017-18 Season

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic head golf coach Craig Watson has announced the signing of three recruits for the upcoming 2017-18 season, as Brady Godwin, Jackson Tyler, and Grant Horvat have all signed with the Sailfish men’s golf program.

Godwin, from Bartow, Fla. currently attends Bartow High School, and was named 2016 Polk County High School Player of the Year. The two-time Central Florida Junior Tour Player of the Year will bring his talents to an already improving Sailfish men’s golf team, as the Sailfish are currently receiving votes in the latest GCAA National Coaches Poll.

Also signing with the Sailfish for the 2017-18 season is Tyler, who currently lives in Wilmington, N.C. and attends New Hanover High School. Tyler was the 2016 Webb Simpson Challenge Champion, shooting two rounds of 73 in Southern Pines, N.C. 60 players from around the east coast were competing in the tournament.

The final signee is Horvat, who is from nearby Stuart, Fla. and has signed to play with the Sailfish beginning in the fall of 2017. Horvat currently attends South Fork High School, and as a junior, shot 70 in the district 17-3A playoffs to lead South Fork to a team victory, while also landing the individual title for himself.

Coach Watson’s 2016-17 team will look to build off a strong fall season as they open up the 2017 portion of their schedule Feb. 6-7 at the Titan Winter Invitational in Melbourne, Fla.
