Sailfish No. 2 Seed, Will Face No. 7 Seed USC Aiken in Elite Eight

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball team will be the No. 2 seed at the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament in Sioux Falls, S.D. later this week as announced by the NCAA Division II Volleyball Committee on Monday. The Sailfish have won 31 matches in a row and claimed their second straight NCAA South Region championship over the weekend.
The Sailfish will take on No. 7 seed and winners of the Southeast Region the University of South Carolina-Aiken in Thursday’s quarterfinal match. That match is the second of the day and is set to be played at 3:30 p.m. EST/2:30 p.m. CST. The Sailfish and Pacers have met three times in their history, all in Aiken, S.C., with the ‘Fish holding a 2-1 advantage. The Pacers lone win came last year in 2015.
The winner of the PBA-USCA match will play the winner of Thursday’s first quarterfinal between No. 3 seed Angelo State (SouthCentral Region) and No. 6 seed Alaska Anchorage (West Region) on Friday.
The other half of the bracket features No. 1 seed Concordia-St. Paul (Central Region) against No. 8 seed American International (East Region) and No. 4 seed Wheeling Jesuit (Atlantic Region) facing off with No. 5 seed Lewis (Midwest Region).
