Volleyball Trio Brings Home D2CCA South Region Honors

FLORENCE, Ala. – Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball had three players honored on the 2016 D2CCA Division II All-South Region Team that was announced on Tuesday. Junior Sarah Ragland led the way as the lone first team selection and was joined by sophomores Ally Rohn and Molly Burkhardt on the second team.
Ragland was named to the second team a year ago and moves up to the first team in 2016 and will now be eligible for All-American honors as a first team region selection. She currently leads all Division II in blocks per set (1.73), block assists (182) and total blocks (195). The Jacksonville native is second on the team with 283 kills and is hitting at a .316 efficiency.
Both Rohn and Burkhardt are making their first appearance on the team. Rohn leads the team with 418 kills and 28 service aces. She is second on the team with 364 digs and has collected 76 assists and 31 total blocks. Burkhardt has been the primary setter for the team most of the season, registering 1,106 assists to go along with 108 kills, 27 aces, 315 digs and 88 total blocks. She’s third on the team in both digs and blocks.
The Sailfish have won 28 straight matches and will be the No. 1 seed for the second straight year in the NCAA South Region Tournament. PBA will host this year’s event inside Rubin Arena beginning on Thursday. The ‘Fish will take on SIAC Champion Kentucky State in the final quarterfinal match on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
