Sailfish Softball Unveils 2017 Schedule

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- After a two year NCAA tournament drought, Palm Beach Atlantic softball looks to return to the NCAA Tournament in 2017. PBA head coach Kimmy Bloemers is getting ready for her 11th season at the helm for the Blue and White, and is joined by second year assistant Bailey Castro, with the addition of newcomer Mackenzie Huhn.

The Sailfish will be logging some serious travel miles this season, as they play 33 of their 48 games in 2017 on the road.

The season officially gets underway in Melbourne, Fla. on Feb. 3rd as the Sailfish partake in their first of three consecutive tournaments to open the season. The three tournaments are in Melbourne, Fla., Dahlonega, Ga., and St. Augustine, Fla.; and will take place over three consecutive weekends.

For the second consecutive year, PBA is scheduled for a full Sunshine State Conference slate this season, playing Eckerd (Mar. 3-4), Florida Tech (Mar. 17-18), Embry-Riddle (Mar. 24-25), Tampa (April 7-8), and Barry (April 28-29) all on the road in 2017.

PBA’s 15 home contests consist of five three-game sets at Simpson Field, as they host Sunshine State Conference opponents Rollins (Feb. 24-25), Lynn (Mar. 27-28), Florida Southern (Mar. 31-April 1), Nova (April 14-15), and Saint Leo (April 21-22).

The 2017 opener at Simpson Field will be Friday, Feb. 24, as the ‘Fish host Rollins at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, April 22. The Sailfish will honor their senior class as they take on Saint Leo in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
