Softball Adds Ten New Players For 2017

West Palm Beach, Fla.- Palm Beach Atlantic head softball coach Kimmy Bloemers has officially added ten newcomers to the Sailfish squad.

“We have almost a brand new team this year,” said coach Bloemers “With nine solid returners and ten new talented faces, I am truly looking forward to a successful 2017 spring season. Throughout this fall preseason, the program has taken the steps needed to unite as one solid team. The talent overall is great and I am excited to see what they are going to achieve together.”

Ashton Adkins - Transferring to the Sailfish from Indian River State College, Adkins will be added to the pitching rotation adding in 2017.

Before IRSC, Adkins pitched for head coach Daniel Davis at Bradford High School.

The Hawthrone, Fla. naticewill be majoring in engineering and is the daughter of Clay and Serena Adkins

Liz Albertini- A new outfielder for the upcoming season, she's from Palm City, Fla. and is a graduate of Martin County High School where she played softball for head coach for head coach Daniel Davis.

Albertini will be majoring in exercise science, and is the daughter of Michele and Richard Albertini.

Maddie Biggs- As an incoming freshman, Biggs will be looking to earn her spot behind the plate, serving as one of the team’s catchers this season. The freshman played at Lakewood Ranch High School before joining the Sailfish.

A native of Bradenton, Fla., Biggs will be majoring in exercise science, and is the daughter of Mindee and Bill Biggs.

Alexis Brown- Another new outfielder added to the mix this season, Brown played at Suwannee High School for head coach Jeff Smith before joining the Sailfish.

The Live Oak, Fla. native will be majoring in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry, and is the daughter of Nick and Marsha Brown.

Hannah Carlton- A middle infielder at Hardee Senior High School for head coach Caitlyn Bliss, Carlton will be serving her role as a utility player this year for the Sailfish.

The Wauchula, Fla, native will be majoring in exercise science, and is the daughter of Jake and Melissa Carlton.

Alexis Guerra- Another infielder being added to the mix, Guerra spent her high school years playing for head coach Mo Martinez as James C. Enoch High School.

A native of Modesto, Calif., Alexis will be majoring in Marine Biology, and is the daughter of Joe and Candie Guerra.

Michaela Hynes- Transferring in to PBA from Florida Gulf Coast University, Hynes will be adding depth and Division I experience to the infield this year. Michaela played in 72 games for the Eagles, making 42 starts.

Before FGCU, Hynes played for head coach Todd LeNeave at West Orange High School.

The Windermere, Fla. native will be majoring in Psychology, and is the daughter of Chris and Debbie Hynes.

Noelle McGuire- Transferring in from Lake-Sumter State College, McGuire adds another left-handed bat to the lineup, and will be serving as a utility player this season.

Before LSSC, Noelle played for head coach John McGuire at Pompano Beach High School.

The Deerfield Beach, Fla. native will be majoring in Public Relations, and is the daughter of John and Liz McGuire.

Claudia Pizzarelli- Transferring in from Seminole State College of Florida, Pizzarelli will be adding depth to the outfield, adding a left-handed bat and arm to the roster.

Before SSCF, Claudia played softball for head coach Linda Derk at Admiral Farragut Academy.

The St. Pete Beach, Fall native will be majoring in Human Health and Performance, and is the daughter of Tony and Anna Pizzarelli.

Magnolia West- The final newcomer, West will also be adding depth to the Sailfish outfield, while also adding a left-handed bat to the lineup.

Magnolia played for head coach Sharon Props at Del Campo High School.

The Sacramento, Calif. native will be majoring in Marine Biology, and is the daughter of Michael and Victoria West.
