Sailfish Move Up to No. 10 in AVCA Top-25

LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the first time in over a month the Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball team has moved up in the AVCA Top-25, this week coming in at No. 10. The Sailfish – who have won 26 straight – were No. 12 in the last four rankings.
The Sailfish won three times during the week, all in three sets. On Tuesday they defeated Nova Southeastern in straight sets before doing the same thing to Florida Tech on back-to-back nights on Thursday and Friday. The ‘Fish have won 13 straight sets with their last four matches ending in three.
The top eight teams stayed the same this week with Concordia-St. Paul remaining at the top spot. The rest of the top five are Minnesota Duluth, Nebraska-Kearney, Southwest Minnesota State and Wheeling Jesuit. Alaska-Anchorage jumped into the top ten at No. 9 followed by PBA at No. 10. Central Oklahoma dropped to No. 12 with Angelo State also falling out of the top ten to No. 13.
Tampa fell from No. 22 to No. 24 after losing this week to Lynn. The Spartans are the only other team from the South Region to be ranked. North Alabama is the first team in the receiving votes category with West Florida and Florida Southern are receiving votes.
The Sailfish close out the regular season this weekend as they host Tampa on Friday at 7 p.m. and followed by a match with Saint Leo on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The NCAA Selection Show is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. and can be watched live at NCAA.com.
