WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Just one day after announcing the signing of Jules Jasmin to the 2017 recruiting class, Palm Beach Atlantic Head Coach David Balza officially announced that Zach Smith of Spruce Creek High School of Port Orange, Fla. has signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Sailfish starting in the 2017-2018 season.

“We are very excited to add Zach to our PBA family,” said Balza. “With four junior post players in our program, it was imperative that we find a young man who can come in and learn from them as a freshman and develop into a leader and presence in the paint for years to come. Zach is a perfect fit. He is a Christian young man from a wonderful family. He’s a very high academic young man who I feel will pick up quickly on what we do. He’s athletic and can shoot it, two attributes that have me very excited about his potential in our program.”

Averaging 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 1.5 assist per game, the 6’9" big man will be making his presence known down low for the ‘Fish next year.

Not only a star on the court, but in the classroom as well as Smith currently is on pace to graduate with over a 4.0 cumulative GPA, the highest on the varsity basketball team each year he has been on.
