Offense Leads Sailfish to Sweep of Florida Tech

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – No. 12 Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball won for the 25th straight time on Thursday night, sweeping Florida Tech 25-14, 25-19, 25-20. The Sailfish are 25-3 on the season while Florida Tech drops to 6-19.
The Sailfish hit over .300 for the second time this week, closing the match at a .312 clip. PBA opened the first set on fire, collecting 11 kills and hitting .435 in the opener while FIT finished the set in the negative. The Panthers hit .089 for the match.
Ally Rohn posted a double-double to lead the Sailfish, collecting 14 kills and 18 digs. The sophomore hit .364 for the match. Emma Ballantyne had another highly efficient match, with eight kills and zero errors on 16 attempts. She also added six blocks.
Molly Burkhardt also had six blocks to go along with 33 assists, nine digs and two kills. The Sailfish finished with 10 blocks in the match with Sarah Ragland and Abby Palkert adding four and three. They both added six kills as the ‘Fish racked up 44 in the match.
The ‘Fish were able to pull away early in sets one and two before rallying from down 12-9 in the third. PBA took a one point lead at 16-15 before FIT pulled even at 16-16 but the Sailfish scored four straight thanks to a pair of kills from Ballantyne as PBA opened a 20-16 lead to pull away.
These two teams will play again on Friday in Melbourne with first serve set for 7 p.m. PBA returns home to close out the regular season next weekend, hosting Tampa and Saint Leo on Nov. 18 and 19.
