WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Just two days before tipoff of the 2016-2017 men’s basketball season, Palm Beach Atlantic Head Coach David Balza announced that Royal Palm Beach High School standout Jules Jasmin has officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Sailfish starting in the 2017-2018 season.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited about a signing,” said Balza. “I first saw Jules as a ninth grader shortly after I came to PBA. I said at that time that I would love to see him in a Sailfish uniform one day. I have always said that for us to become an elite program, we will need to be able to attract the top players from our area, which is full of talent. Not only is Jules Jasmin one of the best, perhaps the best player in the county, but he is an even better person. He comes from a great family and a great high school program, and Jules will be a tremendous representative of PBA Basketball for the next four years on the court, in the classroom and in the community. I couldn’t be happier to have Jules and his family join our Palm Beach Atlantic family.”
Jasmin is Coach Balza’s first early signee in his PBA tenure, and he is currently listed at No. 40 in Prep Hoops Florida Top-60 players in the state.
He averaged 18 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game as a junior in high school. He was also named to the Sun-Sentinel First Team All County team, Palm Beach Post First Team All Area, and the Coaches Selection First Team All Conference teams in the same year. Jasmin should make an immediate impact for the Sailfish upon his arrival in 2017.
“Jules is a fantastic fit with the great coaching staff and fast improving program at PBA,” stated Scott Dobbs, Jasmin’s head coach at Royal Palm. His work ethic and willingness to improve are second to none, and in addition to what he provides on the basketball court, he is an exemplary student and young man.”
