Sailfish Remain Atop NCAA South Region Rankings

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball continues to lead the South Region according to the latest NCAA region rankings released on Wednesday. The Sailfish are undefeated in the region at 20-0 and are riding a 24 match winning streak.
PBA is the top ranked team for the fourth straight ranking going back to last year when they hosted the South Region Tournament for the first time and also won the tournament for the first time in program history.
The Sailfish are followed in the rankings by Saint Leo and Tampa for the second straight week. West Florida jumps to No. 4 from No. 6 and is followed by Florida Southern who holds strong in the fifth spot. North Alabama comes in at No. 6 with Eckerd sliding from four to seven this week. Shorter, Lynn and Barry round out the top 10.
The final region ranking will be released next Wednesday with the NCAA Selection Show scheduled for Monday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. The video broadcast of the release will be streamed via NCAA.com.
The South Region Tournament is scheduled to begin either Dec. 1 or 2 at the top-ranked team in the region.
PBA returns to action on Thursday to host Florida Tech at 7 p.m. The two teams will play again on Friday in Melbourne at 7 p.m.
