Rickenbach Named to USTFCCCA All-South Region Team

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Freshman cross country student-athlete Cami Rickenbach was named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-South Region team this week after placing second in the region championships this past Saturday.
Rickenbach was the top Sailfish runner, placing second with a season-best time of 22:27 on the 6K course. The region championships were held at The Abbey Course hosted by Saint Leo University. She finished behind only Saint Leo’s Collett Rampf who won the race in a time of 21:54.
The freshman from Kennett Square, Pa. will represent the ‘Fish at the National Championships to be held on the same course at Saint Leo on Nov. 19. She is just the third PBA runner to qualify for the race and first since 2012.
Rickenbach led PBA in every meet this season including the season-opening race hosted by Florida Atlantic where she won the non-D1 portion of the race. She placed fourth in three other races this season including the Sunshine State Conference Meet on Oct. 22 and also was sixth at the Mountain Dew Invitational.
The National Championship race for the women will begin at 9:45 a.m. on Nov. 19. The race will be streamed live online at NCAA.com.
