Baseball Releases 2017 Schedule

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic head baseball coach Kent Bottenfield has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2017 season. The schedule includes a full Sunshine State Conference schedule as Palm Beach Atlantic is in their final year as a provisional member of the conference.
The Sailfish will open up play with three opponents in three days, as Barry University will travel to Rubin Park on Feb. 3 to open up the season. Tusculum College and Alabama-Huntsville will also face off with PBA in the opening weekend of the season.
The ‘Fish will then take part in their annual matchup with Palm Beach County rival Lynn University on Feb. 7 at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Fla. PBA is 3-2 against the Fighting Knights in the last six years of games at Roger Dean Stadium.
PBA will play host to several non-conference opponents on the season, as Flagler College will travel to south Florida on Feb. 17-18, St. Edwards University on Mar. 3-4, and Winona State will play a pair of games in West Palm Beach on Mar. 2 and 7. The Sailfish also have mid-week home games against non-conference opponents Southern New Hampshire, American International, and St. Thomas.
The conference schedule for the Sailfish will open up against fellow provisional member Embry-Riddle on Feb. 10-11 in Daytona Beach, Fla. The ‘Fish will also travel to play weekend series against Saint Leo, Lynn, Barry, and the defending DII national champions Nova Southeastern.
The home portion of the SSC schedule doesn’t begin until Mar. 17-18 as Florida Tech makes their trip to Rubin Park for a weekend series. The Sailfish will also play host to Florida Southern, Eckerd, Tampa, and Rollins.
