Men's Soccer Remain No. 2 In Latest NCAA Region Rankings

Indianapolis, Ind.- The third official NCAA Regional Rankings for the 2016 season was released Wednesday afternoon, and the No. 11 Palm Beach Atlantic men’s soccer team remains second in the South Region Rankings for the third consecutive week. The NCAA uses the regional rankings to determine who gets in the NCAA National Tournament.
Following a 3-0 road win over No. 23 Tampa last week, and a 3-2 home win over Saint Leo University on Saturday, the ‘Fish earned a share of first place in the conference, and were awarded the top seed of the Sunshine State Conference tournament.
The South Region sends four teams to the NCAA Tournament, and alongside PBA, the South Region’s rankings are Lynn University at the top spot again, Florida Tech in the third spot, Mississippi College in the fourth, and tied for fifth just on the outside of things are Barry and Tampa.
The Sailfish finish regular season 12-3-1 with a record of 11-3-1 in the NCAA South Region. The ‘Fish turn their eyes towards the postseason, as they gear up for the Sunshine State Conference semifinals, hosted at the Rinker Athletic Campus, beginning Friday, Oct 4 at 7 p.m.
