Sailfish Climb to 5th Place Finish at GolfRank Invitational

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's golf climbed two spots up the leaderboard Tuesday morning, finishing 5th at the GolfRank Invitational held at PGA National Golf Club. The 'Fish sat in 7th place after day one, but shot a 296 in the final round to finish in 5th. Lynn University won the tournament, edging out Barry University by two strokes.
David Liu led the Sailfish the whole week, as he finished in a tie for 12th place at 3-over par after his final round 75. Dylan Allen finished with his second consecutive under-par round as he shot 71 on Tuesday.
Ben Murray was the third highest finisher for the Sailfish, as Murray shook off a triple-bogey on his first hole of the day to shoot 75. Daniel Langley also shot 75 on Tuesday to continue his solid play this week. David Jizdny wasn't far behind has he finished with a final round 76.
The Sailfish will compete at the McDonough Cup next week to finish out the 2016 portion of their schedule.
Day 1: Palm Beach Atlantic men’s golf shot rounds of 304 and 288 on Monday at the GolfRank Invitational, as they sit in seventh place after day one, but are within ten strokes of third place with one round to play.
The Sailfish second round of even par 288 was four strokes better than any other team in the field. The ‘Fish had two golfers under par in the second round, as David Liu shot a one-under par 71 and Dylan Allen shot a 2-under par 70.
Liu led PBA in overall scoring on Monday as he shot rounds of 73 and 71 and sits in a tie for 11th on the leaderboard. Ben Murray shot rounds of 76 and 74 on the first day of the tournament as he sits at six-over par on the tournament.
Allen had a very up-and-down day as he shot an 80 in the first round of the day, but shot the best Sailfish round of the day with a 70 in the afternoon session. David Jizdny joined Allen with a wild day, as he shot 82 in round one, but followed it with a 73 in the second round. Daniel Langley shot a 3-over par 75 in round one Monday but followed it with a second round of 82. Sean Boyle shot two rounds of 81 on Monday to round out the scoring for the Sailfish.
The tournament will wrap up with a final 18 holes on Tuesday morning at PGA National Golf Club.
