WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women’s soccer suffered their third loss of the week Saturday evening, falling by a 1-0 score to Barry University. All three defeats this week came by a one goal differential. The loss drops Palm Beach Atlantic to 4-7-1 on the season while the win brings Barry to 7-2-2.
The match started out slow, with neither team having good scoring chances early on. The Bucs got on the scoreboard in the 30th minute, as an Amanda Traynor shot found the back corner of the net just out of reach of Isabelle Granlund. PBA finished the first half with two shots, neither of which were on target.
The second half was a defensive struggle for both sides, as two shots on goal were all that both offensives could manage. The Bucs had a couple great looks on goal, but outstanding saves by Granlund kept the score at 1-0.
The Sailfish honored their three members of the 2016 senior class; Karina White, Bridget Wollrabe, and Stephanie D'Cruz, after the match. All three have played key roles for the Sailfish this season, making 35 starts between the three of them this season.
The ‘Fish will have a busy final week to the season, as they will travel to Rollins College on Wednesday, Oct.26, for a 7 p.m. start and will also make trips to Florida Southern College and Saint Leo University to finish out the regular season.
