Rickenbach, Mandelburg Lead Sailfish to 4th at SSC Championship

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The top two newcomers for the Sailfish continued to lead the way as the Sailfish placed fourth at their first Sunshine State Conference Championship on Saturday morning at Wickham Park.
Cami Rickenbach took fourth individually in the 6K race, clocking in at 21:21 which was three minutes faster than her last 6K race two weeks ago. Rickenbach was followed by Sara-Caitrin Mandelburg who placed sixth in 21:46, also three minutes better than two weeks ago.
The Sailfish finished fourth overall in the field of eight team with 105 points, just three behind Florida Southern. Saint Leo was the team champion with 28 points and four of the top-8 runners. Tampa took second with 55 points.
Sophia Miller was the third finisher for the Sailfish, placing 27th with a time of 23:06. Madison Troyer finished just behind her in 31st position in a time of 23:17. Jessica Lykins was the final scorer for the ‘Fish, taking 53rd in 24:33. Other competitors for PBA were Rhian Romanik (60th, 25:05), Makayla Richardson (63rd, 25:21), Hope Kanagy (64th, 25:31) and Alyssa Hearing (65th, 25:35).
The Sailfish will have two weeks before they compete at the NCAA South Region Championship on Nov. 5 at the Abbey Golf Course in St. Leo, Fla.
