DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The No. 13 Palm Beach Atlantic men’s soccer team picked up their 8th win in a row Wednesday night as the Sailfish defeated Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University 4-1.

The Sailfish jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening half, with Eddy Milien scoring his second goal of the year in the 22nd minute, and Fredo Dilbert scoring his third of the season in the 33rd minute. Milien’s goal came as he beat the defense and dribbled past a diving goalkeeper, tapping the goal in an empty net. Dilbert extended the lead following a pass from Charlie Dennis that set up a wide-open look.

Just six minutes into the second half, Lucas Coutinho extended the lead to three, as the senior dribbled around a few Eagle defenders, allowing him to score his third goal of the year.

Following a 56th minute goal by the Eagles, Cameron Roberts blasted a shot in the 61st minute that unfortunately hit the crossbar, but fortunately for the Sailfish it rebounded right to Felipe Clavijo, who scored his fourth goal of the year to put the ‘Fish out in front 4-1.

Elliott Barker (W, 9-0-1) picked up two saves on the night, bringing his season total to 26.

The Sailfish defense played a key factor in the win, as they only allowed four Eagle shots on the night versus the 19 Sailfish shots.

With the win, the Sailfish are now 10-2-1 (4-0-1 SSC) on the year, and sit in first place in the conference, and second in the NCAA South Region rankings. The ‘Fish have three regular season games remaining, as they head down to Miami Shores to take on Barry University this Saturday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. Then they hit the road to take on the University of Tampa on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m., and return home as they honor their senior class taking on Saint Leo University Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Rinker Athletic Campus, set for 7 p.m.
