Sailfish Sweep Lynn to Win 16th Straight

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No. 12 Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball team keeps on winning, this time defeating Lynn University 3-0 on Tuesday night. The Sailfish have won 16 straight matches this season and improve to 16-3 while the loss drops the Fighting Knights to 12-7.
The Sailfish had a balanced attack with Ally Rohn leading the way with 10 kills as PBA won 25-19, 25-18, 25-19. PBA had five players with at least five kills including junior Abby Palkert who had nine on the night. She added five total blocks including one solo. Olivia Finckel added seven kills and a .312 attack while Emma Ballantyne collected six kills on just 13 attacks.
Sarah Ragland continued her dominating presence at the net with eight more blocks. She is the national leader in total blocks and blocks per set. She added five kills on the night as well. Amy Schatzmann collected five service aces as the team had 10 in the match. She also had seven digs. Susie Forbes led the defense with 17 digs.
The ‘Fish trailed early in set one, 5-1, but rallied to 13-13 before running off seven straight points to take control of the set. Schatzmann collected two of her aces during the run. At almost the identical point in the second set the Sailfish opened up a big lead, this time leading 13-12 the Sailfish won five straight as Rohn picked up a pair of aces.
In the third it was Schatzmann at the service line again when PBA pulled away, turning a 9-8 lead into a 16-8 lead and essentially sealing the match.
The Sailfish take the season series with the Fighting Knights 2-0.
PBA continues their road swing this weekend as they travel to Saint Leo on Friday and No. 20 University of Tampa on Saturday.
