Sailfish Finish 11th at Saint Leo Invite

DADE CITY, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's golf team finished 11th in the Saint Leo Invitational, following up their first round 319 with a final round 320 on Tuesday afternoon. The tournament was won by the hosts, Saint Leo University, who shot a final round 284 to win by 15 strokes.
Victoria Hays and Taylor Heinz shot the best Sailfish rounds of the day Tuesday, as both finished with a 6-over par 78. Hays finished with three birdies on the day as Heinz birdied two holes Tuesday at Lake Jovita Country Club.
Tracy Peyton shot 81 on Tuesday, one shot better than her first round score. Following them on the leaderboard were Emily Valentine (83) and Katie Humphreys (93).
The Sailfish will be back in action on Monday, Oct. 24-25 as they will participate in the GolfRank Invitational, hosted by Nova Southeastern University. The tournament will take place at PGA National in nearby Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Day 1: The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s golf team completed the first round of the Saint Leo Invitational Monday, and sit in 11th place, ahead of Sunshine State Conference opponents Tampa and Eckerd. The host team Saint Leo University currently leads the tournament, as they finished with a first round of 287.
Emily Valentine shot the low Sailfish round of the day, as her 5-over 77 sits her in 26th place on the overall leaderboard. Taylor Heinz was closely behind Valentine on the afternoon, as she finished with a 7-over par 79 in her first round of action.
Following them on the day for the ‘Fish were Katie Humphreys (81), Tracy Peyton (82), and Victoria Hays (83). The Sailfish will finish the tournament on Tuesday morning, as they look to climb their way into the top-10, currently sitting just a few strokes behind Florida Southern and Mount Olive.
